The National Outdoor Recreation Society of America
Welcome the NORSA website! The mission and purpose of the National Outdoor Recreation
Society of America is to promote camping, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing,
caving, hunting, fishing, sailing, rafting, and all outdoor recreation. We
emphasize a healthy respect, awareness, and appreciation of nature and,
therefore, encourage minimal impact camping and the ideals of Leave-No-Trace
outdoor ethics. Our goal is to instill a love of outdoors into everyone
interested. Nature has a lot to offer, we are here to help everyone enjoy the
outdoors to the fullest.
At the NORSA website you can browse through photos of our various expeditions,
learn more about our purpose, check out member profiles, or sign up to get more
info about the NORSA. You are visitor number 7434.

NORSA Events and News
:
Wonderful time had at Assateague Island on July 11. Photo page
coming soon! Despite mosquitoes, a lousy site, and all the evil
rules and regulations of a National Park, the NORSA crew enjoyed
midnight ocean swimming, flame-grilled ribs, and good times.
Submit your idea for the next trip at the guestbook.
July 31, 2003: UPDATED NORSA Archives!! Volume one expanded, read
articles from the Executive Directors of NORSA covering everything from where to
go, what to pack, and how to do it! Visit the archives from the link

NORSA General Information
The roots of the NORSA lie in the minds of two high school students who
wanted to involve their classmates in the kinds of activities that they got
so much enjoyment out of. Upon graduating, they wanted to keep up the
tradition and extend the reach of their influential little idea. So, the
NORSA was born. Since its conception in 1998 to its founding in 2001 to its
present state today, the NORSA has been a resource for people interested in
the outdoors. When Adam and Tom founded their club, they didn't expect much
of it, but it has blossomed and generated much more interest. As it
continues to grow, so do their plans to reach more people, host greater
events, sponsor more members, and perhaps even more amazing things to come.
One thing is certain, though, the NORSA will always exist as long as
Americans love the outdoors and continue to interact with nature.
